Refund Policy

The short version. Ninety nights from the day it arrives. Email us, send the sheet back, and we refund what you paid for the sheet plus the postage you paid to return it. There is no restocking fee and nothing is deducted from what you paid for it. (Two exceptions, set out below: if the outlet was never grounded, the postage back is yours; and if the whole order comes back, the free mat and tester come back with it.)

The rest of this page is the detail, written out so that none of it is a surprise later.

The ninety nights

Your ninety nights start the day the sheet arrives, not the day you ordered it. If it sits in a depot for a week, that week is ours, not yours.

We refund sheets that have been slept on. That is the point of a trial, and a trial you cannot use is not a trial.

How to start a refund

Write to Support@thegroundport.com. A person replies within one business day, with a name at the bottom, and sends you the return address.

Tell us your order number and, if you feel like it, what happened. You do not have to explain yourself and we will not ask you to justify the decision. We ask because the answers make the next version of this product better, not because the refund depends on them.

What we ask of you

Email us before you do anything else. Some of the reasons a grounding sheet appears to do nothing are fixable in five minutes, and we would rather fix it than refund you. If it is not fixable, we start the return in the same conversation.

Give it until night thirty. Refunds open from the thirtieth night. A sheet you slept on twice has not been tried, and we would rather you gave it a month than a weekend. The one exception is below, under outlets.

Send the sheet back. You pay the postage at the counter and photograph the receipt. We refund what you paid for the sheet and the exact amount printed on that receipt. If you bought two sheets together and send one back, we refund half of what you paid for the pair. The one exception is an outlet that was never grounded, which is set out below.

One refund per customer. That means per person, per household and per payment method. We are a small company and this is the line that keeps the policy possible for everyone else.

The free mat and tester. Keep at least one sheet and they are yours, whatever else you send back. If everything in the order comes back, send the mat and the tester back in the same parcel, or keep them and we deduct $70 for the mat and $20 for the tester from the refund.

Refunds go back to the person and the payment method that paid. If the sheet was a gift, the person who bought it is the person we can refund.

Why we ask for a photo of the postage receipt

So that we put back what you actually paid, rather than a flat number we invented that happens to be lower than your real cost.

Postage varies by where you live and how fast you choose to send it. A prepaid label from us would cover one of those and not the other. A receipt covers both, and it means neither of us has to argue about it.

Photograph it with your phone, attach it to the email, and that amount goes back with your refund. You will not be charged a restocking fee, and nothing is deducted from what you paid for the sheet.

If your outlet turns out not to be grounded

This is worth its own paragraph, because it is one of the most common reasons a grounding sheet appears to do nothing.

Some three-prong outlets were retrofitted without a real ground wire behind them, and some older homes have none at all. A sheet plugged into an outlet like that cannot work, and that is not something either of us can fix with patience.

In that case the thirty-night wait does not apply. Write to us with a photo or a short video of an outlet tester plugged into the outlet by your bed, with its lights showing. We reply within one business day and help you check whether another outlet within reach of the cord is grounded. If none is, we start the refund straight away. We would rather lose the sale than have you sleep for three months on something that was never connected to anything.

This is also the one case where the return postage stays with you. Everywhere else on this page we put it back, because the reason for the return is something we could have done better. An ungrounded outlet is not one of those: it is a fact about the wiring in your house, and an outlet tester answers it in four seconds. What you paid for the sheet comes back in full, with no restocking fee and nothing else deducted.

If it arrives damaged, faulty, or the wrong size

Email us with a photo within thirty days of delivery. We replace it or refund it, your choice. In this case you do not have to send anything back and you do not pay any postage, because the mistake was ours. The ninety nights start again on the replacement, and it is not counted against your one refund.

Before you contact your bank

If something has gone wrong, write to Support@thegroundport.com first. We have never refused a refund inside the ninety nights and we do not intend to start.

A chargeback filed before you have written to us costs us the money, the goods, and a mark against the business, and it takes longer for you than an email does. We are asking, not demanding. But we would rather you gave a small company one message before you gave a bank one.

What the ninety nights do not cover

  • Sheets bought from anywhere that is not this website. We can only refund what we sold.
  • Requests after the ninetieth night. If you are close to the line, write to us anyway.

Inside the ninety nights there are no other conditions. We do not ask how you washed it, whether you kept the packaging, or what you did with the cord. You slept on it, it was not for you, you send it back, we refund you.

After the ninety nights

The trial ends. The sheet does not.

If it stops conducting and you have washed it cold, line dried it, and kept it away from bleach and fabric softener, write to us and we will work it out. Those three are what shorten the life of any conductive sheet, whichever brand you buy, and a sheet that met a tumble dryer is a different conversation from a sheet that failed on its own.

How long the money takes

We process refunds within one business day of the sheet arriving back with us. Your bank then takes five to ten business days to show it. That second part is out of our hands, and if it has been longer than that, tell us and we will chase it with you.

Delivery times

Processing takes one to three business days. Delivery is seven to ten business days in the United States and seven to fourteen internationally. Full detail is on our Shipping and Delivery page.
